European Night of Museums 2018

The 14th edition of the European Night of Museums will take place on Saturday, May 19th, 2018. From 6pm to 11pm, Estonian museums participating in the event will freely open their doors to the visitors for a night full of special events!

Since its launch in 2005, the European Night of Museums attracts every year a numerous public, in an increasing number of museums: last year, the event had mobilised more than 3800 museums in thirty European countries.

In Estonia, more than 110 000 people took part in the Night of Museums 2017, to enjoy both free access and the special programmes and excursions offered by museum teams all over the country. In 2018, around 200 different museums, art galleries, manor houses and other organisations are expected to open their doors for the 5-hour long event, from 6pm to 11pm.

This year, the Republic of Estonia celebrates its 100th anniversary. As birthdays mean parties, the Night of Museums will explore all kinds of parties and celebrations, under the theme of "Night of Parties". Birthdays, weddings, harvest parties... Why do we like to party? What are our party traditions and how has partying changed over time?

Here you can find a list of the museums participating in the event.
